3 May: Venus Retrograde: Relationships in Reflection

A Virtual Talk with Lori Barnes
Around every year and a half we have the opportunity to take pause and reflect back on our relationships during the Venus retrograde cycle. We don’t have to wait that long to resolve relationship issues, but unresolved issues will have an opportunity to come out in the open when Venus is retrograde. Venus retrograde is an introspective time to work on unresolved relationship situations. By looking at the house position of Venus retrograde, your natal Venus, and the configurations made in your chart, you can get a sense of what to expect in your life and use the cycle to improve one or more relationships in your life. In this presentation, we will look at the Venus retrograde cycle as it relates to the Sun, the dual nature of Venus, and ways to work with the Venus retrograde to clear out old and unresolved relationship issues and make a fresh new start in some area of your life based on where Leo resides in your chart. Venus will go retrograde on July 22 and will go direct on September 3. Learn how to work with this upcoming Venus retrograde cycle in the upcoming presentation on May 3.
This presentation is suitable for all levels. A basic understanding of the planets, houses, and aspects will be helpful to understand all of the material.

17 May: The Part of Spirit, The Part of Marriage and Their Uses

A Virtual Talk with Israel Ajose
The parts of the chart often referred to as lots or Arabic parts date back from antiquity, and the usage and understanding of the lots has nearly been virtually lost in western astrological practice. The part of spirit and the part of marriage ware and still are two of the essential and important parts of a natal chart. They represent aspects of our directions in life, and additional information to our potential love life and marriages. In this lecture we will be looking and exploring how these vital parts of the horoscope give us much more depth and information about our lives, by integrating these tools we get to have a much better way of interpreting the chart, and also strengthening our predictive techniques.
7 June: To dignity and beyond!

A Virtual Talk with Trav Travers
At the heart of traditional astrology, an evaluation of any chart via essential and accidental dignity adds depth and subtlety to your horoscope delineation. Although very ancient they remain relevant in today’s astrology. The concepts of dignity and debility tell us much about a planet’s condition and it’s expression. Come explore the world of planetary dignity. Suitable for the beginner and the advanced
Trav Travers has been running his traditional astrology group “The Astrological Explorers” for several years, based in Sussex, looking at Natal, Mundane, Electional and Horary astrology through the ages, based on traditional source texts. His interest in astrology originally started in childhood. A devotee and advocate of traditional astrology since 1990, Trav has studied with many well-known traditional astrologers. He holds workshops, lectures and talks and still ‘does charts’.

**Summer Term Special***
Saturday 10 June: The Astrology of Relationships
Announcing our face-to-face meeting at the Cornerstone Community Centre, Hove, on Saturday 10th June, 10am – 4pm.
Programme:
Part One: 10am – 12.30 am (with a coffee break)
Fated Attraction: the Astrology of our most Significant Relationships

Those who spark love at first sight and those who spark fear, those who mother us and those who abandon us, those who help us rise and those who cause us to fall – all the characters in life’s intensest relationships can be found symbolised in our birth charts.
In this experiential workshop Phoebe will use guided meditation, inter-active group techniques and chart examples to help us understand more deeply what experiencing these significant relationships has taught us about ourselves.
Phoebe Wyss (www. astrophoebe.com) is a professional Hove astrologer with 43 years experience in giving consultations, courses and workshops. She also trained as a past-life therapist back in the 1980s in Germany, and for many years combined regression work with natal astrology in her practice. Following her life-long fascination with synchronicity, she’s published an astrological board game, an astrological oracle in book form, two books illuminating the astrological archetypes and a book that explains astrology within the context of the new in-coming cosmology of Oneness – Inside the Cosmic Mind: Archetypal Astrology and the New Cosmology, Floris Books, 2014.
Part Two: 1.30pm – 4.00pm (with a tea break)
Relating Through the 12 Zodiac Signs

Julian will guide you through an experiential workshop, in which we will take the five core relationship planets of the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun & Mars and take them on a circular journey of the zodiac, interpreting them by sign as we move steadily around the Zodiac. This will give participants a key lesson in understanding how the four elements of Fire, Earth, Air & Water link up in the Zodiac, and also how the modalities of Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable signs work in the Zodiac. You will learn how planets associate to each other by different aspects, making relationships harmonious or challenging!
This is a workshop for beginners to intermediate level, and will show participants clearly how the planets relate to each other through the zodiac signs. It will be particularly good for learning, as Julian will be using a series of painted ‘zodiac’ and ‘planet’ wooden discs set in a circle around the floor, and [we] will be using them as Stations, learning about the relationship planets as we circulate around the zodiac.

His other major project in 2023 is to create a complete set of cast pewter talismans, using well-timed electional charts to birth the planetary spirits into the earthly realm.

21 June: Where can I be at home?!

A Virtual Talk with Fernanda Paiva
According to Geoff Mulgan ‘Where can I be at home?’ was a question that Albert Camus called once ‘the most painful of our time’ and, if home is where the heart is and the IC is one of the astrological symbols reflecting home, then the subject is worth being explored further. In this talk we will take a closer look at different notions of home and what kinds of deeper insight they can offer to the astrological interpretation of the IC, as well as what the star signs might be reflecting about our deeper selves in this most hidden part of the horoscope.
Fernanda Paiva is a teacher and practicing astrologer with a BA. in History and she acquired her astrology certificate with distinction at the London School of Astrology. She has been published by Flare UK, IAM Infinity magazine, the AA Journal and at the astrodienst website, and she is currently working on her thesis for the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology at the University of Wales. 5 July: Missing

A Virtual Talk with Wanda Sellar
Thousands of people go missing every year in the UK and worldwide. Usually for different reasons. Thousands are never found. Some of the following ideas for seeking a missing person are from 17th century astrologer William Lilly, if unrelated to the enquirer. This will be a step-by-step guide. Many astrologers set up a chart for LAST SEEN TIME as may be reported by an acquaintance or family member of the missing person.
