May 18th: The Sun/Moon midpoint in relationships

Julian Venables
Julian Venables

A Talk by Julian Venables

As you learn, interpret and understand astrology you also want to understand Synastry and the art of relationships. At first glance your natal chart introduces you to the well-known relationship points such as the planets Venus and Mars, and the Ascendant and Descendant angles.

These paint quite a full picture of what you are looking for in the perfect partner, however there is one point that is often overlooked and deserves a very important mention as its a powerhouse of understanding yourself and finding the perfect relationship.

The Sun/Moon Midpoint is the degree calculation of the shortest distance between the Sun and Moon in your chart and reveals where the perfect love can be found.

Join Julian as he guides you to finding this point in your chart, and provides examples of how it works, as well as showing you where it is in your own chart. Be amazed as you realize how the people you like or love the most in your life are often the ones (unknowingly) activating your Sun/Moon Midpoint. Not-to-be-missed!

Julian Venables is a Hove astrologer with a Faculty Diploma. He writes daily horoscopes on www.uinterview.com In 2015 published his first novel ‘The Astrologer’s Apprentice’ now available on Amazon, which he has now finished adapting into a screenplay called “The Prediction.” His website is www.julianvenables.co.uk

June 1st: Synchronicity, Astrology and the Oracle principle

Phoebe Wyss
Phoebe Wyss

A Talk by Phoebe Wyss

From a pack of tarot cards you pick the card The Lovers twice in row. Then soon afterwards you meet someone special, fall in love and start a new relationship. Mysterious coincidences pull us up sharp. We begin to suspect there’s something else going on beneath the surface of life that we’re unaware of.

In this talk Phoebe will discuss how synchronicity, which is the very foundation of astrology, could work. And she’ll give you a taste of the magic of meaningful coincidences by inviting you to try her new astrological oracle game.

Phoebe Wyss is a Hove astrologer with 35 years experience in giving consultations, courses and workshops and is an experienced public speaker. She’s published an astrology board game, two books on the astrological archetypes and her latest book on archetypal astrology and the new paradigm was published in 2014. CHANGE of TALK

June 15th: Brexit “Shall we stay or shall we go?”

Pam Carruthers

A Talk by Pam Carruthers

Pam will illustrate how important the Mars retrograde cycle, the recent Mercury Retrograde and the Grand Mutable Cross are to the outcome of the EU Refererendum on June 23rd. She will be looking at charts of the EU and the date Davd Cameron made the announcement on February 20th.

Mars only goes retrograde every 2 years, 2 months so it can catch us unawares. In 2016 this retrograde period lasts for approx. 80 days and it will have an important effect on all zodiac signs, especially Aries and Scorpio who are ruled by Mars.

Mars is the god of war and causes trouble when retrograde, especially in the sign of Scorpio.  Last weekend we witnessed the Orlando shooting and the violence at the Euro 2016 football match.

It ends on June 29th at 23 degrees Scorpio but remains in Scorpio until August 2nd.

Pam Carruthers is a qualified professional Vedic and Western astrologer. She works from a spiritual perspective and is a student of A Course in Miracles. An experienced Life Coach and Trainer, Pam helps clients discover the hidden patterns that are holding them back in their lives. A consultation with her is a life enhancing and healing experience.

She facilitates a unique transformational workshop ‘Healing your Birth Story’ based on your birthchart. The next one is January 16/17 in Brighton. Based in Hove, Pam has an international clientele working with Skype. Subscribe for her free webinars on astrology. Contact her via her website www.healingstars.com

July 6th: Consultations and working creatively with symbols

Kim Farley
Kim Farley

A Talk by Kim Farley

As Keats wrote: “I am certain of nothing but the holiness of the heart’s affections and the truth of imagination.”

When we bring our astrological mind and heart to a consultation, we have a wealth of symbols to guide us and symbols are not cut and dried things. They are the very opposite of inanimate, in that they are deeply soulful and have a particular kind of aliveness that can speak to us on many levels.  The ‘truth’ of imagination allows us to explore the chart creatively and openly.

If we make our ideas too concrete, we run the risk of limiting our art, ourselves and our clients.  If, instead, we give ourselves willingly to the full interplay of  planets and signs, houses and rulerships and allow the symbols the time and space in which to offer their meaning, we can discover a way of consulting which enhances our own world and honours the people who come to see us.

Kim Farley discovered astrology at the end of the 1980s and since then it has enhanced her life in countless ways. She loves the intensity and connection of private consultation work as well as the joy of shared vision experienced in teaching regular London classes for both the LSA and FAS. She is currently the longest-serving Faculty class tutor and feels very privileged to have been able to introduce the subject to generations of beginners as well as to encourage and learn from students further down the path.  She has written course material and published various articles in addition to her booklet Astro Mind Maps and her chapter on forecasting in the recent book Journey Through Astrology. Alongside her private practice and teaching, she has a second vocation as a funeral celebrant.

July 20th: Hillary Clinton- next US President or pantsuit entrepreneur?

Victor Olliver
Victor Olliver

A Talk by Victor Olliver

On 8 November 2016 the US presidential election is held. What can astrology tell us about the outcome? Three years ago, Victor assessed Hillary Clinton to be a likely candidate in the race based on her birth chart, transits, progressions and solar arc directions, using also fixed stars and the geometric (and theoretical) entity Black Moon Lilith. He also looked at the synastry between her and the US chart (Sibley, Sag rising). In this talk, Victor takes us through Clinton’s chart and different techniques – and also analyses the chances of her Republican rival Donald Trump.

Victor Olliver is the editor of The Astrological Journal, flagship magazine of the Astrological Association, and the first-ever astrologer to The Lady magazine. He is also media officer of the Association of Professional Astrologers International. Prior to becoming an astrologer six years ago, after obtaining a distinction diploma in natal and mundane astrology from the Mayo School, he was an editor variously at IPC Magazines, Mirror Group and Daily Mail General Trust. As a magazine writer he won two awards from the Periodical Publications Association. His work has appeared in Marie Claire, the Sunday Times Magazine and many other titles.
