Trav Travers
Trav Travers

A Talk by Trav Travers

A traditional astrology look at assessing the mind – what the ancients referred to as “our soul”. Trav will look at mental motivations, how we’re thinking, how we’re likely to react in situations and what dominates our personality. He will touch upon mental illness as viewed by the ancient astrologers.

Trav Travers has been running his traditional astrology group “The Astrological Explorers” based in Sussex, for many years, which looks at Natal, Mundane, Electional and Horary astrology through the ages, based on traditional source texts. His interest in astrology originally started in childhood. A devotee and advocate of traditional astrology since 1990, Trav has studied with many well-known traditional astrologers. He holds workshops, lectures and talks and still ‘does charts’.

Julian Venables
Julian Venables

A Talk by Julian Venables

Julian will take the group further into understanding the Celestial Sphere and the realm of the fixed stars as the ancients saw it, and how we can reinterpret it in the 21st Century.  He will be looking at the ancients’ understanding of the indwelling spirit of certain stars and how they transmit their meaning, through mythology and message. The horoscopes of famous people, the ‘stars’ of our world, will also be interpreted.

Julian Venables is a Hove astrologer with a Faculty Diploma. He writes daily horoscopes on www.uinterview.com and has just published his first novel ‘The Astrologer’s Apprentice’. His website is www.julianvenables.co.uk

Jez Hughes
Jez Hughes

A Talk by Jez Hughes

This talk will explore each planet from Saturn outwards (including Chiron) to discover what is the ‘Medicine’ behind each planetary archetype – what qualities do they bring that can provide healing to the human condition. We will also look at the ‘shadow’ of each planet, and how this can contribute to and cause sickness – mental, spiritual, emotional and physical. This will be examined on both an individual and societal level, with special reference to the extraordinary times we are now living in.

Jez Hughes has worked full time as a shaman and astrologer for over a decade. His passion is utilising Astrology as both a diagnostic tool for soul sickness and also to provide healing narratives to empower, uplift and transform. His work has featured in the national press including BBC radio. www.secondsighthealing.co.uk

March 7th: ‘Turning the Wheel of Your Zodiac Soul’: Twelve Gateways to Wholeness

John Wadsworth
John Wadsworth

A Talk by John Wadsworth

In this talk John Wadsworth will be sharing the fruits of his many years working with the Zodiac as a wheel of initiation, transformation and healing.  This talk coincides with the launch of John’s new book, ‘Your Zodiac Soul’, which is being published by Orion Spring in March 2018.

Rather than focussing on the zodiac signs as being indicative of twelve personality types, John will present the zodiac as a complete, alchemical emblem of the soul, offering twelve transformational gateways in the ever-turning wheel of life. This idea lay at the heart of the mystery school traditions of ancient Greece and Rome.  Treating the zodiac in the manner of a medicine wheel that we all possess complete and whole within the psyche, John will take us on an journey to restore the power and integrity of its twelve archetypal images and demonstrate how we can engage with the wheel practically and alchemically in our everyday lives.

John Wadsworth became a professional astrologer in 1993, following a profound experience of communion with the night sky, which opened his mind to the poetry of the cosmos and radically altered his worldview. He has been teaching astrology since 2000, running the Kairos School of Astrology in Glastonbury. He is known as an innovator in the field, engaging with astrology primarily as an experiential practice capable of facilitating profound healing and transformation, and is the founder of “The Alchemical Journey”, a contemporary zodiac mystery school, based in Glastonbury. This work forms the basis of his book, “Your Zodiac Soul”, due for publication in March 2018.  John holds an MA in Cultural Astronomy & Astrology from Bath Spa University. He also teaches night-sky astronomy and runs a mobile planetarium for schools.

March 21st: Introduction to Horary astrology

Justin Martin
Justin Martin

A Talk by Justin Martin

Justin will show how accurate assessments can be made using the traditional planets and traditional principles but will add a modern twist! He will show how the birth chart is first and foremost a horary chart and can be interpreted from this perspective and will touch on the four temperaments of traditional astrology.

Justin Martin grew up under the clear skies of Arabia which led to a fascination with astrology. Later on the family moved to Peru where he discovered his second passion – butterflies. He worked as a part-time consultant astrologer for ten years whilst living in Bournemouth – fitting this around his full-time career. He firmly believes that the role of astrology is to provide answers and has made many accurate predictions.
