Examining the themes of Rowling’s seven-book series about The Boy Who Lived, professional astrologer and English teacher Alex Trenoweth combines the author’s fictional descriptions with her own research into astrology and education. June 5th: Planetary Dignities
A Talk by Trav Travers
Traditional planetary dignities give much valuable information. They tell of dynamic planetary relationships and interactions that directly affect our life and the events that befall us. They richly enhance our chart understanding in a way not apparent in the modern astrological world.
Trav Travers has been running his traditional astrology group “The Astrological Explorers” for several years, based in Sussex, looking at Natal, Mundane, Electional and Horary astrology through the ages, based on traditional source texts. His interest in astrology originally started in childhood. A devotee and advocate of traditional astrology since 1990, Trav has studied with many well-known traditional astrologers. He holds workshops, lectures and talks and still ‘does charts’.
June 19th: Mystique: the Charts of ‘Sphinxes’
A Talk by Victor Olliver
When theatricality blends with an air of secrecy in a person, we call this ‘mystique’. Garbo had it. Bowie, too. Is there a chart signature for this type of glamour? Could Neptune be our answer? Try another… the Great Sphinx of Giza holds clues to a better understanding of nativities dominated by the signs of Leo and Virgo.
Victor Olliver is the editor of The Astrological Journal (published by the Astrological Association) and has a distinction diploma in natal and mundane astrology from the Mayo School. Before he took up astrology full-time, he was an award-winning celebrity interviewer whose work appeared in The Times, Sunday Times, Marie Claire and other publications. His media astrology columns are syndicated internationally, and he was appointed The Lady’s first star-sign columnist in 2011. He lives in the UK.
