3 June: Twins: Same but Different

A Virtual Talk with Alison Boulton

Alison Boulton
Alison Boulton

Sceptics often use twins to show how astrology cannot possibly be true. However, just a few minutes can have a major impact on natal charts and these are often reflected in subsequent life outcomes. This talk considers the approaches some well-known astrologers have taken when looking at twins’ birth charts, and then examines several pairs of charts in detail, focusing especially on Nicholas and Timothy Knatchbull, grandsons of Lord Mountbatten. Timothy and Nicholas were caught up in the 1979 IRA bomb that killed their grandfather and one twin died with him. It quickly becomes clear that when analysing twins’ charts that accurate birth data is key. With this in hand, it is possible for the astrologer to show how tiny differences in the horoscope come to reflect wide variations in life experience.

Alison Boulton MA, D.F.Astrol.S. is a writer, teacher and professional astrologer who has contributed articles to The Astrological Journal. She has a BA Hons in Anthropology and an MA in Creative Writing. In the 1980s, after an intense consultation with Liz Greene, she began studying with the Faculty of Astrological Studies, gaining the Foundation certificate in 1988. Liz Greene’s work led her to Jung and to psychological astrology which she has explored extensively. In 2021, she returned to the Faculty and gained her Diploma, just three Jupiter cycles after passing the Foundation. Alison is based in the southern French countryside beneath a canopy of stars where she teaches astrology and has a busy consultancy practice. 17 June: Good Lilith/Bad Lilith: How She Really Plays

A Virtual Talk with Christina Rodenbeck

Christina Rodenbeck
Christina Rodenbeck
Understanding the influence of Black Moon Lilith in the astrological chart can open up worlds of meaning. She is not entirely what she seems though. Like all astrological points, she is richly complex, full of meaning — and because of the nature of this point in the sky, she is  often deeply misunderstood. In this talk, Christina wants to show you examples of how Lilith can play out in a person’s life negatively or positively, showing you how working with Lilith can not only be empowering but also a huge relief as you understood how this astrological factor may have been working in your life.
Christina Rodenbeck is a counselling astrologer and writer. Since 2010, she has written the Oxford Astrologer — one of the UK’s most influential astrology websites. Until recently, she co-hosted a The Astrology Talk Podcast.  Her book Lilith Untamed, published by The Wessex Astrologer in March, is available online or you can order it from your local bookstore.

Nick Oakley-Smith
Nick Oakley-Smith

Neptune transits dissolve the structures of our lives and our sense that we are in control, it is like we are at sea in a small boat with no land in sight. All our plans for the future and the continuity of our lives dissolves, yet in this limbo, the ego softens and we become more aware of the way that the universe is like a void out of which our lives emerge rather than thinking that we are controlling or shaping them.

Nick Oakley-Smith has been an astrologer and student of the I-Ching for over 40 years.  He has spoken at the AA conference and internationally as well as run the Bath astrology group and now a local one in Stroud. Nick also works as an executive coach for leaders in large law firms and the luxury sector – bringing astrology and the I-Ching to the corporate world.  He also works in prisons with offenders, mentoring them on their release and training other mentors to work with them.  In addition he runs a small family business doing regenerative agriculture, equine therapy and holiday accommodation at his field.  Nick’s particular interest is in understanding how to use astrology to help us become wiser and more fully in our hearts.  He is also interested in what is evolving in the collective mind in terms of AI.

15 July: Introduction to Rectification

A Virtual Talk with Deborah Morgan

Deborah Morgan
Deborah Morgan
We all know that the time of birth is a vital piece of information when constructing a birth chart. Together with date and place, the moment of birth grounds us in the physical world of planet, society and family and the realm of our personal experience. But what if this moment is not known? Many people don’t know their birth time and rectification is an extremely useful skill for the consultant astrologer which enables this issue to be addressed effectively. Even if a birth time is provided, its accuracy often cannot be guaranteed and can be problematic. In short, which time is the ‘right’ time?
This online seminar will provide a clear methodology for rectifying a chart that provides an effective birth time for astrological purposes and introduce the philosophical background to this intriguing technique. It is recommended that attendees are familiar with natal chart work and forecasting methods in some depth in order to benefit fully.

Deborah Morgan DFAstrolS. BA Hons. interweaves astrology with mythology and the Western Mystery Tradition. In addition to tutoring for the Faculty of Astrological Studies, she runs the College of Astrology and Magic which helps students integrate astrology as a spiritual practice and teaches the technical skill of rectification. Deborah’s individual client work focuses on personal development and aligning oneself with the rhythms of the planetary cycles.  Find out about Deborah at deborahmorganastrology.weebly.com
