Beyond the Bounds: Black Moon Lilith

Brighton Astrology Circle would like to invite you to join us on 2 September 2020 for our “Beyond the Bound: Black Moon Lilith” Virtual Astrology Talk via Zoom.

Beyond the Bounds: Black Moon Lilith

A Virtual Talk with Carole Taylor

The Black Moon (also known as Lilith) occupies the empty focal point of the Moon’s elliptical orbit around the Earth. In folklore, Lilith is the first wife of Adam, created not from his rib, as Eve was, but from primal earth like her husband, giving her equal status. Refusing to be betray her own nature, she chose exile rather than submission. Long associated with a negative image of the feminine as demon or sorceress, on a collective level she is the untamed spirit of nature, whilst on a personal level this is a place where we often have to fight to claim our territory or express our potential. Here we may have found ourselves diminished by authority and pushed to the margin or playing the renegade. We will explore this powerful feminine archetype both in natal charts and as an image relevant to current issues of climate change and ecology.
