Chiron- Healing the Earth and the Ancestors- A Shamanic Approach: A Talk with Jez Hughes

Jez Hughes

In this talk we will explore Chiron, the archetypal wounded healer, from a shamanic perspective. We will look at how Chiron’s ‘unfair’ wounding in the chart and the difficulties of healing this, can be traced to ancestral patterns. We will also explore how Chiron can represent our disconnection from the earth as a culture and how its presence is a call to remedy this. Finally, we will look at the path and role of the wounded healer in the modern world by relating it to traditional shamanic sickness/ initiation rituals from indigenous cultures.

Jez Hughes is a British shaman and astrologer who has worked full time as a healer, teacher and astrologer for over a decade, treating thousands of people. This followed a 15 year initiation of convulsive fits and mental illnesses which he used shamanism and astrology to cure himself from. He teaches in England, Europe and in North America.

His passion is empowering people to re-awaken their spirits, their ancestors and the land where they reside, to heal the relationship between the human and natural world.

He is the author of ‘The Heart of Life- Shamanic Initiation & Healing in the Modern World.’ More details at
